Im so fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing pi**ed off its untrue.

Just started to bolt a head back on the block, got to the 8th bolt and the fu**ing block thread stripped. Just put on some £145 head gaskets and now they are fu**ing wasted.

I cant be fu**ing bothered to get it helicoiled or what ever they do to blocks, I cant afford more head gaskets.

I gonna break her now, i've jsut had enough, 2 Z's, both fu**ing crap. This supposide good one is just a pile of w*nk.

Ill get a list of bits up.

Got nice 18" wheels, gearbox, R34 brakes all round. I geuss thats the main bits.

Might be uprated injectors, will have to check. Turbos are reconditioned with 360degree bearings, not done many miles.

Dump valves HKS I think. have to check.

Spose someone could buy the engine as it is if they want? bored out with JE pistons. I just painted all the rocker covers and cam covers ffs.

How the hell o you get out a greedy e01 boost controller and safc fuel thingy??? Its all hard wired in????

FFS, I just spent £500 on a tracker and alarm!!!!!!!!

Im sooooooooooooooooo pi**ed off its untrue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was only all done 15k miles ago. I was just checking as they said it was a 3.1ltr engine but it isnt, just the JE pistons. (87.5)

Anyway, fook it, thats what it was, long bolts in short holes. I had 16 the same length, it must have bottomed out and just destroyed the thread.

All 16 the same? You can re-use the bolts, probably best if you don't re-use all of them though ;) LOL :D

If your going to helicoil the head I think Ive still got the tool required to wind them in after the rethread If you want it I will dig it out .It will save on costs as you will only need to buy a couple of helicoils and a tap to suit.Should only cost a couple of quid to post if you want it. just send me your postal details and iuts yours

Ok, just looked at old 16 bolts and 2 shorter ones. And I was sent 16 the same length (all long)

I took the heads off and checked the two threads. They seem to be ok, I wound two fresh bolts down them, a little tight (will get a tap from work tomorrow and clean them up) but the bolts did up tight and seemed ok.

I think I will get the ARP stud set and all should be ok.

and come on if a turbo failed id understand but friggin ell chin up bud:p

On my last Z, I had two turbo failures and head gasket on my last one, no. 6 cylinder dead, exhuast rusted through, snapped downpipe studs just to name a few things.

So I am a little p*ssed lol!!!! :D

Fook ARP is £205, I thought it was £90 lol.

Back to the bolts. :nana2: I think ill get a loada washers and stack them up to test the two holes will go upto torque

no way, i hope your joking? dont even think about that, the bolts wont torque up properly as the washers will just compress. Get new bolts

Get the ARP's!!-worth every penny!! ;)

Bit of threadlock on the dodgy threads, sorted!! :D

Just use the 2 old shorter ones. Z headbolts are reusable ;)

I ment without the head on, I will put a load of washers on the bolt to space the gap out so I can load up the thread to make sure it holds before I go putting all the heads back on.

As the Duff man says they are reusable :D used mine 3 times now and never had a problem :)

I hope you stick with it dude, I knew the car when Tony had it and it was one of the good ones. I know how you feel tho, and I tried to get away from Z's but I'm back already!! LOL!

Stick with it, don't be afraid to ask for/accept help and you'll soon be on the road again :)

Anyway, things like this give you something to talk about at club meets and events!

Wish I just used the old ones and saved £90!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oem headgaskets are not reusable but cosmetic ones are which i presume you have :)

Yes Kirbz, I have cometic h/g.

The £90 was for new bolts, then found out I could have used the old ones. I also then would of had the two shorter ones and no f**k up, lo..

Where'd you get the bolts from? If you explain to them they may supply you with new (and the right length) bolts free as they fwcked up.
