forgot to mention its a jap import it that makes any difference

There is no write up, supposedly it's just a case of putting your hand in there, and un-clipping it. But to be honest I've NEVER found it successful doing it that way, and have cheated by taking the headlamp out

I know it's a bit drastic, but while the headlamp is out you could also take them apart and give the inside of the glass a good clean (you'd be very surprised how mucky they get on the inside!!)

You could also do a simple mod to the dipped beam unit to convert it to standard Euro H3 bulbs (instead of H3c) It's a simple case of attaching a wire to the lamp body via one of the screws >> Here >> http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=27029
