I have a crappy little 110cc 4-stroke scooter that I use for getting around on when I`m at work, its always been a real shit to start so I took the sparkplug out and found it to be badly coked up considering it had only done 400km`s from new. So I cleaned it up and backed the mixture off a bit (1.5 turns on the carb).

My questions are: -

1. Does the plug electrode look healthy now, obviously I dont want the mixture too lean.

2. Am I being too anal about a scooter that only cost US$500 from new lol

P.S. Its done about 50km`s since I adjusted it at mostly wot.

The electrode looks a bit uneven, what should the gap be, it looks huge? Why didnt you just buy a new plug.

The electrode colour doesn't look too bad. It may benefit from a better plug but to be honest most of those engines are pretty basic so it may not. I would probably have kept the mixture a hint richer and tried a hotter plug.

@carl I have no idea what size the gap should be tbh and just nipping down to Halfords for a new plug isnt really an option in Basra lol

@Andyp see above lol

Thanks though guys

:rofl: well you didnt mention that minor detail lol try closing the gap a little might help if the plug is a little weak

Well when your location says Perth, how the hell are we supposed to know that the nearest Halfords is 3000 miles away ?! LOL :D
