Had my Zed for 3 days and its just failed its MOT.

Nothing too drastic, No reserve travel in the handbrake, O/S/F and N/S/F bottom ball joints and the horn doesnt work.

Also the lowering springs are not sitting in the cup at the top of the shock and i dont think they are the correct springs for the car.

 

Anyway, can the ball joints be fitted seperatley or do you need to fit the entire bottom arm?

A set of srpings have been ordered from whiteline and we shoudl be back on the road by the start of the week.

Did they actually see the play in the bottom ball joints? There is a bulletin out about excess play in the upper arms being normal with the suspension unloaded. Think it was for Z32 and Primera. Basically they should pass it. If they could actually SEE the play though in the bottom ball joint then fair enough...

Are you doing the job yourself, I have a couple of fooked bottom arms but I think the ball joints are ok, although its always better to fit new parts when it comes to something like this, if your on a budget you may be able to use them. Dont know if they will come out the arm intact but your welcome to them....... I'm only along the road (Falkirk) let me know if you want them

Ive got some ball joints coming up from a Zed specialist in Bansai mag. ordered them while i was at work today so they will be here tomorow, hopefully get the job done over the weekend.

Thanks for the offer, ill keep it in mind if i manage to break anything lol.
