The best thing to do is to find a design you like, Make sure you really like it and i mean REALLY like it. Then sit on it for at least 4-6wks and look at it again, if it is still looks amazing then go for it.

There are a million tattoo sites dedicated to designs and ideas but personally I wouldnt choose a ready made design as there will be others walking around with the same as you.

I have a few done and all of them where my own design.

A sword that starts at the back of my neck and finsishes in my arse :) That was done by drawing an outline of me on a huge sheet of paper stuck to door and took about 3weeks of altering and changing to get it exactly how i wanted it. The spine is pretty sensitive but the worst place was my tail bone at the base of my spine, Imagine bending over a table and right where there is only bone loads of needles hammering into it.... It gave me uncontrollable shakes. Sounds nice too, Kind of like a drill thats hit metal and slows right down.

Also got my forearm (missis name), chest (her name again), right outside shoulder to elbow done (celtic cross done with a blue surround and my sons name) and half left sleeve (tribal).

If your slim then the chest is a little raw but bearable, forearm is fine and the shoulders the same.

They either hurt or not, I love the pain of it, My back took about 6hrs and it turns into a nice pain if that makes sense but everyone is different and ive seen people pass out from the gun starting up

Try and find someone who has used the place you want to go to and see what the design looks like after time as the ink settles differently from place to place and different artists.

Wait untill you get your first one...... Its a bug and youll want more and more.

Hope that helps and any thing else you need give us a shout mate :)

the fleshier the area the more sting, the worst place for me was the bottom of the wrist at the back bit tender, dont drink to much beer before you have a tat, otherwise you tend to leak more blood ;)

all my tattos are my own designs and were done freehand by a friend, best thing to do is buy a tattoo magazine find something you like, then do your owntake off it that way its unique to you and no one else has the same :)

you have to go for sumthing u like mate otherwise u will regret it, i have four tats all in the nice places were u want them, but also there in the places which you think hurt, its a mith about were it hurts, my back tat didnt hurt abit, niether did my arm, shoulder blade or leg.

it all goes on pain thresh hold mate, no sence no feeling lol.

I had a ring put in my nipple when i was 22, now that HURT, my mate had it dun and he didnt think it hurt at all, but you see him with tats, he is a proper wimp.

just get sumthing u like mate and really think about it. u can even make one urself, make it more personal like i did.

karl

I've got a butterfy just above the crack of my arse.

And, a baby blue dolphin just above my bikini line.

Just got my beely button pierced but it's gone ceptic.

pmsl....

they all hurt mate tbh i have about 14 in all, both arms from shoulder, full back piece, lh side of my chest, both shins, top of both feet too ( and no si they dont say left and right!)

like has been said above make sure you are 100% happy with the design you want, and definitely definitely check out the work of the guy/girl you will be using to get it done..

IMO the most painful of the places you have said is the chest

Shins!?!

Fook me they must hurt. It gives off that gruesome sound on the gun when it touchs bone so on the shins where there is no skin its got to kill.

lol.. mate my rt leg is from the kneecap down to the foot!!! dont hurt too bad, in fact i prefer tattoos over bone than anywhere else...

weird innit and the tops of my feet didnt hurt at all!!

Ive got pretty much the whole of my spine done and allthough it sounds weird i quite like the pain.

Intitial feeling as it starts to scratch is "why am i bothering" then the 5mins rush kicks in and whoosh...

An old mate of mine was going for a full upper body and i mean FULL, he used to sit in the chair, after about 5mins he would fall asleep  They would wake him up after an hour or so and ask him what he thought of the progress.

Knee cap must be like the elbow which ive heard is also quite sore.

it is.. lol both my elbows are done, i have a full backpiece which took 34 hrs in total. during the sittings i used to doze off too!!

I always said I'd get a tattoo when I find one I'd like for the rest of my life.........

full back, chest, top of arms, forarms, hands and all done allmost 30 years ago when a tattoo artist was nothing like an "artist" :headvswal and the ones on my hands done by my cellmate

Bloody I tattoos I personally don't agree with them !!! :nono: :nana2:  They're for thugs and Hooligans LOL

having a tattoo done is an adictive type of pain...

in rolls in al and liam

i need some more ;)

As already mentioned you either find it painful or you dont. Personally I enjoy it, however I know people that don't lol. The most 'painful' area I can think of is the ribcage. My shoulders stung a bit but not what I would describe as painfull. (I found it more irritating then painful). The area I found easiest was the tops of my arms.

I'm booked in for more work on my forearms at the end of this month! :hyper:

Hello Stranger!!

Long time no see!! Seen the light yet or still mincing around in that Skylark??

with the amount of times im in trouble with johnny law i like to have as few distinguishing marks as possible for them to have on their files

Got a full sleeve done on one arm, some forearm work on the other, and some of my back.

In my experiance elbows are the worst place

Tops of arms are nothin.

Cellmate? What prison?
