are the short shifters i keep seeing for sale actually shorter in length or just made different so they shift shorter - also how hard are they to fit

cheers guys

the ball section of the shifter is further up the shaft causing a shorter throw. they shift shorter but can be "stiff" to use. also if you have a gearbox prob (crunches into 4 for example) this can make it feel worse as you are forcing the gears quicker.

so there not shorter then ??

does anyone just sell shorter shafts

i have shortend mine myself but i did make a custom gear nob. which i had to cut off some of the thread looks much better imo. have a look in my rides

got mine off ebay and used the instructions on the club site to fit it . it took about an hour and loads of skin but worth it like hellraiser i shortened it further and it feels mint and changes quickly well worth doing

shortening the upper portion of the stick will require more force to shift the gearstick due to a change in lever length, the short shift sticks change the pivot point of the lever to increase throw in the lower portion so that the upper portion movement is smaller.
