hi mark, today i found out that a guy called bob works at arrevia? {nissan group} on fengate. he,s very good with them and jap imports are no problem.only thing is main dealers aint cheep. ive got a red tt on a g but i have seen a yellow one about and a red one around parsons drove {wisbeach} normally goin so fast its just a blur. we will have to meet up sometime?? email me davebrundle@aol. seeya dave.

i used Bob at Arriva, and he is very knowledgable and up to the job.

However, someone else on the forum had some bad advice from Arriva and possibly Bob.

same as every other garage that everyone uses though....

Only problem is they are very very expensive, especially for a non London dealer !!

there is another dealer, JS Holmes in Wisbech St Mary 01945 410243, and i have used them also.

i had some trouble with them regarding a faulty clutch supplied by Nissan, but we managed to sort that out.

Their chief mechanic (Wayne i think) was very good, and more than competent.

They also give you a courtesy car for free, if you arrive early enough wink.gif

They generally keep you up to date on whats happening with the car, and are a lot more reasonably priced...

JS HOLMES have advised me a couple of times as they are local to me. i would suggest you try them. they seems very knowledgeable.

Arriva Nelson in Peterborough are good, well Bob is but I did get some spurious info about the level of how bad the damage was to my engine.

Oh and they are probably one of the most expensive garages I have ever had the pleasure of using in terms of labour rate. I think Bob quoted me 55 an hour. I'll put that into perspective for some of you shall I? We've had 2 x Range Rovers and Conwy Land Rover charge 45 an hour, my Merc Cossie on occasion has been to our main dealer and 64.50 an hour is the order of the day!

I wouldn't slag them off though, Arriva in Peterborough I mean, as compared to the average run of the mill Nelson they rank up their probably alongside Middlehurst etc.

However some of you know how I feel about Middlehurst aswell, wink.gif, not going there though eh? Best not! LOL biggrin.gif

I`ve tried Bob,but I personally wont use him again. He gave the impression it could have

been a micra. He was`nt bothered about doing the job and basically said 2K for replacing the turbos. He spebt about 90 secs, discussing

the job and very offhand. And I`m an easy going bloke.

Cheers

mark try holmes in wisbech st mary , bob quoted me £540 for a clutch and said could cost grands sort out me smoking. holmes are doin me clutch for £470 and it seems to me that the guy knew what he was talkin about. i will sort out the smoking somewhere else. possably silvia engineering if i ever get the web site address
