Ptu

Yes sounds like the PTU is faulty.

They usually fail when hot and often work again when cooled down.

There's a series 2 part that doesn't fail but don't buy it from Nissan they want about £400 for it!

WITH SOUNDIN DUMB WATS A PTU?cars still under warrenty reckon it would be a good idea to get em to fix it?

PTU - Power Transistor Unit, aka ignition amplifier. Its on the drivers side cam cover, rectangular metal box with heatsink fins on and a connector either end. It drives the coilpacks which in turn drive the spark plugs.

Try and get it fixed under warranty, at very least they should replace it with a series 1 (unreliable) but push for a series 2 if you can...

Bloody typical, USA got a recall on this and all were replaced, UK as usuall get the privilidge of staring to the skies to see the Nissan rectum shitting on them.....
