The headlights on my import are pretty dim (a bit like me).

What options are available for having them brighter?

I don't want anything too ambitious like a complete headlight change

can you get more powerful bulbs or something equally simple?

That's a new input, Paul. What are the costs and benefits?

They cost about £1k and are also HIDs.

I have the HID kit in my Zed and I think it is the best mod I have done - I don't even need full beam anymore ! It is sooo nice to be able to see where you are going at night.

£1k is a bit out of my price range lol.

What's beginning to concern me is the brightness of HID's. Are they dazzling to oncoming traffic?

I have been considering 6000k or 8000k so perhaps I should opt for the slightly less bright, but bluer, 8000k.

Providing they are aligned correctly they are fine. Mine are the 6000k and I am really pleased with them - they make such a difference. If you do go for them - it is worth cleaning the inside of the headlights, to get ride of 16 years or so of grime.

As has already been said Dave. HIDs are the only way forward. Easy to fit and if yu were to get stuck we are only a post away to get some help. Go for it.

O.K. I've got the message :slap:

I've ordered an HID kit with 6000k from eBay today. It's guaranteed 14 months and came recommended by a well known buddy on this site (No names - No packdrill).

AND THEY ARE ONLY £95 DELIVERED :hyper: :hyper: (Who the heck needs to pay £235?). I know you'll say they will be a load of crap but they do come recommended from a guy who's opinion I respect.

I can't wait to receive them and fit them. I know they will be a great improvement on the candles that are currently flickering on my Zed.

I thank you all again for the advice and information and I will keep you informed about their arrival, fitting and performance. Who knows, a couple of you might want to join me at that price. PM me if you do and I'll give you the eBay reference and you can judge for yourself.

Cheers and thanks - Dave

ps I really must get round to bringing my signature up to date.
