Hi

I've got a small oil leak between engine bell housing and auto box. It seems to be coming from the automatic transmission.

It sounds like a major problem so any advice before I start.

Car 1996 TT Import.

Thanks

More than likely the crank rear main seal. Gearbox out job...

Sealant? How? There's no way you could get to it to seal it!

Just fill up the whole bell housing, surely? ...............

Or maybe not ;)

I had this problem with my autobox, amongst 200 others!!

The Torque convertor had worn away on one side causing play in the gearbox spline allowing fluid to leak. Fooking pain in the arse auto crap!! Sorry, hard feelings still felt.....

What fluid is it? Smell it....engine or transmission fluid?

If it's transmissions fluid then for the love of god buy my manual conversion kit I have for sale; I promise you that it'll cause you less heartache in the future!

Unless you only have one leg of course! :)

Sounds like gearbox oil leak, Thats how my box went also..... box out job deffo, also change gear box seal aswell as crank seal,

cheers martin
