I did enjoy my autobox, suited the car well. But went for the manual conversion just over a year ago and have no regrets. Although not done many miles since its been done. Good luck with the conversion.

i had an auto for a year and it was great for going up multi storey car parks when busy ! but she,s in at zen for conversion to manual as we speak. we'll have to compare notes afterwards but like you i am eager to feel the difference, i expect mpg will drop (who cares) but performance should feel more lively.

glad your getting the box replaced retro

as for less mpg in a manual i thought it was worse in an auto, as your never at resting revs its always up and down, in a manual you can slot it in 5th at low revs and cruise :) but thats no fun :p

Just make sure you go for the right clutch for your current and future upgrades ;) RPS Street max is ideal for most cars running up to ~450bhp :) No' I'm not on commission LOL I just know how frustrating it is to have to have the box removed again because the clutch has toasted itself....

im gonna turn the boost back down to 9psi and have the overtake setting at 12psi and save for a year or so as if I want 500hp then i need more money...which is a bummer, my long term plan just got longer damn it.

Stock clutch won't take any more than stock boost for ANY length of time unfortunately. Ok a brand new one will last a bit longer but not much... The problem is that once it starts slipping, it heats up rapidly, then warps, then its ****ed, just like a brake disk...

i simply assumed (probably incorrectly :slap: ) manuals would be more thirsty as in my auto i had overdrive which dropped the revs down compared to say in a manual where you would be more inclined to chase the revs and keep it in the powerband for a more entertaining drive.

Auto's are always more thirsty than manuals. There is more friction and weight, and you tend to use kickdown a lot with an Auto.
