Hi all,

 

I’ve got a really weird problem! Driving home last night and suddenly there appears to be a build up of condensation on the windows, so as normal I put the air con/heater on and usually it disappears..not this time..it got worse and worse, I was having trouble seeing out the window. Anyway got home and thought it will be ok in the morning..driving to work today and the same things happening so I turn the front demister on and its blowing but its not getting rid of the condensation, its just gets worse and worse…strange. This morning, I put the heater on and it was just blowing cold (the heater was turned up to 40) eventually after 5 mins its starting blowing warm. The aircon is coming on – you can hear the (condenser?) when you press the auto button. Anyone experienced anything like this before? Im thinking perhaps the aircon needs re-gassing or theres a leak or something…or even maybe the thermostat (air blowing cold from heater)

I reckon that either you have the recirc button on, or you have a leak in the heater matrix (or both!)

yeah - checked the re-circ! I thought i was going mad, but it's not that - leak in matrix is bad right?

you know thats weird, i think you're exactly right - when i got in my car last night , i though hmmm why did my foot slide accross the mat onto the accelerator!! blimey, must be that then!! damn damn.

Primera matrix fits with a bit of modification to the airbox and is only £71. Apparently much stronger unit along with better heater performance :) Getting to the airbox is the fun part though....
