However, I didn't have time to speak to them and I had a couple of advisorys which hopefully someone can explain...

Brake tested by taply meter...I know what the brake is!! But dunno about a taply meter.

 

Any thoughts would be appreciated as usual...

a taply meter is a decelerometer that sits in the car for testing the brake efficiency on the road. vehicles with LSD are not suitable for brake testing in rollers

Normal viscous lsd should be fine tested on the brake rollers only welded or machnical clutch pack type 1/1and half and 2 way diffs need a road test.

MOT regs state any vehicle with an LSD is not to be tested in rollers.

when i had my mot done on my shortie, paul was great for mot information, helped me no end.

 

when i took the swb to my local mot tester i also had to have the decelerometer guage in my car as it was too low for his rollers, and he wasnt prepared to cause damage.

 

he is doing the lotus when she is ready for testing. very good mot tester and didnt mind me seeing what was going on and how the tests are done.

LOL! it shouldnt go in the rollers regardless of how low it is!! :smash:

 

all MOT test stations are required to have a viewing area where anyone can ask to watch their vehicle being tested! (bloody customers!! :D )
