I have just had my renewal through from Houghtons.

 

They want £385 for a years fully comp on a 5000 miles per annum classic policy. Mods as sig declared. I am 30 years old, Full NCB living in lowish risk Surrey.

 

To be honest I am way to busy (maybe lazy!) to call about this year and Houghtons have always come out good for me in the past but does anyone think I can do better elsewhere?

An hour on the phone will probably save you £30-£80 I'd guess.

 

Depends what price you put on your time.

Have you tried going to the Auto Trader online site ? You click on insurance and you get loads of quotes . Saved me £ 500 this year on FC with Max no claims and I live and park ( ! ) in London .

by £150! Said they couldn't better it, so i went elsewhere.

This is my third year with Houghtons too and I think its around the same price.

 

I have just done a search on Confused.com without declaring mods and the cheapest they could find was over £600 so I don't think I can grumble at £385 really!

Hi Justin, it's not bad as i'm the same age as you and pay I think £360 or something declaring mods through elephant.co.uk on the internet... Limited to 8000Miles as well.
