i dont know if this has been discussed before but how about the club buying a datascan cable etc for 75 quid and members could borrow/hire it for say 15 a time that way the club makes some more money and we dont all have to shell out for the cable .... sorry if this makes me sound tight fisted but i am from scotland

It is a good idea.

Someone would have to post it out which could be a PITA.

whoever uses it first would get it sent to them and then they would pay the postage to the next person etc etc i dont thing posting the cable should cost a lot of money???

I do believe that this has come up before, along with the same idea for other 'expensive' tools etc.

Sorry to say that it wont happen, simply because all it takes is for one unscrupulous person to say it was damaged when it arrived (whether it was or not ;) if you know what I mean?) and the club would be money down, with no re-course whats so ever!!

oh well worth a try, anyway is any body local to me in prestwick scotland that would be willing to let me use there datascan cable for half and hour for and get two brown drinking vouchers :duffer: for there time and trouble :bow:

I've had a look into this for our DTA ConZult equipment. In theory it's a good idea and also quite workable as we could ship the ConZult together with a dedicated laptop in a hardcase. However, the rental agreement would only work if the customer has a credit card on which the full replacement cost of the equipment could be pre-authorized. Payment would also have to be up front and via the same credit card - a bit like renting a car. To be honest, I haven't thought about this for a year or so now so perhaps it's time to get the ole' braincell working again to iron out the details. I'll keep you posted.
