Morning guys,

I have been a skrimping and a saving so I can take my car to SWZ performance and get a manal conversion, or a replacement autobox as mine is totally knackered.

The man. conversion im finding very tempting for a few reasons.

- Easier to Sell

- Easier to replace individual parts, rather than a whole autobox.

My questions is this, Will I loose any features for swapping over to a manual conversion.

Will Cruise Control still work etc on the conversion? how will it differ to a normal 300zxTT Manual,

and does anyone have any pics of their conversion ?

thanks in advance peeps.

AFAIK cruise sontrol just works on throttle - it gives more to go quicker and less to coast. what the gearbox does after that is irrelevant(spelling?) to the CC computer.

not sure but im wandering if the axle ratio is different?

also the auto has different turbo's and a different ECU map (presumably to suit).

not sure if much else is different?

The back axle ratios are the same on both and the difference in the turbos does not make a significant difference. There are two conversions, one is the 'simple' type conversion and the other a 'complete' conversion. the difference being that the 'simple' conversion is without the clutch booster equipment and gives a heavier clutch pedal requirement, which will only really be noticeable in heavy traffic. Also if you choose not to fit the booster equipment, if at a later date to want to uprate the clutch, it may result in a significant increase in pedal pressure. You pay your money and take your choice.

i had the same conversion done cos my autobox lost 3rd and 4th gears. not had any regrets doing it - its much more satisfying throwing the gears around yourself, and its better having the control of which gear youre in. how many times has an auto changed down on you at the worst moment! auto tubbies i think are slightly smaller for less lag, but ive not noticed any difference since conversion. the only thing i miss about the autobox is the 'plant your right foot and hold on for dear life'.

If Interested, we've just managed to got hold of another full manual TT conversion setup this week. Call/PM/Email for details.

Not very often Im afraid, very hard to come by and sought after....but usually with enough notice we can source one

This particular kit was reserved for another zed, but unfortunatly he wrote his car off last week :(

Yes, much more easily available, we have 2 in stock currently and if you dont already have an Uprated autbox oil cooler fitted we can fit at the same time for improved reliablity..

Typically - £750 parts, £500 labour plus choice of clutch.

had mine converted at zedworld to a manual and it was the best thing i ever did on it

jeff did a full conversion and IIRC it cost about £1500 (that included parts which i got from AndyZ and an RPS street clutch from Smithys).

i do think an auto is faster than the manual when moving but slower in first gear/initial pullaway.......although it could be i didnt quite have the hang of doing a "fast pullaway" in an auto???
