kirbz "usual USA BS BHP i'm affraid"

Geez, what does it take to convince you that horsepower figure is real? Si posted the chart, the guy obviously knows a thing or two about engines. Is it just the fact that he's American make it hard to accept?

nothing against the car, as i said i love it but i know about tuning cars and i know how much fuel a car needs to be able to run that type of power, now if it was running 1200 or 1400cc injectors and bigger pipework then yes maybe but its not possible to run the power he is saying!! also the dyno which they use always shows up "interesting" results, ive seen dynos of nearly 600 rwhp on stock turbos and stock injectors on that dyno!!

Mike

Apparntly there was questionable Tyre slippage on the dyno when running the NOS which would of affected final dyno result. Very nice car, but its a dyno queen.

Its also worth noting that Dyno runs in the U.S are more than often done using Very high octance race fuel.

(p.s It was running a 200shot of Nos, not 100)

Fair enough, I'll have to defer to your better knowledge of Z tuning. :p As an American that's lived in the UK off and on for the last seven years I've taken quite a bit of abuse (thanks George!). Think sometimes I get a little oversensitive, especialy when I've been drinking! :duffer:

i was just going off the spec of the car on Z1's site??

i know theres been a load of this on the gtr site about a guy in the usa with a skyline running hks turbos which wont make more that 500-520 rwhp at max boost ie 1.4 bar and he has a dyno sheet at 1 bar with it making 650 rwhp  on 550cc injectors :xxx:

those yanks

also just to add yes i'm sure they used higher octane fuel but you still need the fuel supply to make the power, just means you can run more timing with higher octane fueling

I was'nt argueing, I agree.....was just a generic observation ;)

Although the rwhp limits you mentioned were based on stock fuel pressure (up to 3 bar), I would be interested to know the 740cc flow limits with increased fuel pressure....although Russels spec list does not mention a FPR...and I guess it would need larger fuel rail as the 740cc's still use stock(95+) rail.

Like the car marco btw, I always think the slicktop should have a glass roof like the porkers or mercs, now there would be a bodyshop challenge!

The thing about dynos and numbers is like holding a wet finger up and trying to tell me how windy it is, the main thing is do you enjoy driving your car and if you do then that is the best dyno result you can have!

1000bhp non turbo!!!!

Yeah and my zed is also a speed boat with submarine capabilities and retro rockets with frickin laser guided hedgehoggs.

FFS.

twAt!! i thought i had the only lazer guided hedgegogs.. fekking paid a fortune for them too. are yours genuine or just copies?

No he doesn't. Not with the big breasted models he has who go to his shows....who I talk to on AIM. ;)

Talk to!!! No good talking to 'em you wanna be sh@gging 'em

So many doubting thomas's about.

I think thats the nicest wide ass on teh plannet, end of.

Looks and awsome power.

Respect is due to the man.

Love the car, love what he's done to it, my only complaint is that the rear looks too smooth, needs a break between the rear panel and bumper, thats my opinion anyway.

Lovely Lovely car but no way on earth is is running over 1000 rwhp

for a start its running 740cc injectors so at most it would ever run including nos is around 700 bhp and even if you added the nos as extra its running a 100 shot so it doesnt add up to over 1000

usual USA BS BHP i'm affraid

still its a stunning car and i would have it in a shot

Mike

It's very true, it breaks traction at 120+mph

Thats just awesome!!!

I need to rob a bank to build a UK equivalent! :headvswal

Is that why it looked like it was floating round silverstone?

Darrell

Don't really care if it's 1000bhp or 500bhp, It's the BEST zed I've EVER seen. Just fookin love it and I'm not a big fan of zed cabrios, well I wasn't until today.

Wonder how many dollars that entire project swallowed up?

Worth every penny!!!! A absolute credit to it's owner

Can you tell I like it :D :D

Never seen one run 600rwhp with stock injectors. If I did, I would call BS also. The car makes 880rwhp w/o nitrous now. We changed the set up to our 725 turbos and Mike Smith manifold. This is a one off car. Have two TT fuel pumps, and a fuel pressure riser for more fuel. At the Z nationals, we dynoed the car infront of everyone there. We had to put four people in the trunk for traction on the dyno. You don't need 1200 to 1400cc injectors for that setup.

We don't use a mustang dyno, those are the ones that show more power.

That works out at approx £1500 for that set up!! Awesome!!

Obviously tax on top, but thats an awesome set up for the money!!

Just out of interest John, can you run that on a stock engine? Or what mods are recommended?

Whats funny is even Z1's website states that the 740cc injectors have a 750rwhp limit

The car has been running PE 850cc injectors for a couple years now.

We've made 880 rwhp on boost alone with the new set-up.

That is with twin stock fuel pumps at a few pounds of extra fuel pressure.

880rwhp at 36psi on our GT725R kit is near the limit of what the 850cc injectors are capable of.

The car also has a direct port nitrous kit (wet shot) that is now hidden under the lower plenum. And also another smaller stage of nitrous that sprays into the two intake pipes before the throttle bodies. All of the nitrous includes fuel jets, so we are able to make over 1000 rwhp with 850cc injectors. In our recent attempts to spray the large direct port nitrous sytem on top of maxium boost we have been unable to acheive any traction on our dyno.

Our calculations tell us the car is producing around 1250 rwhp now when using all the nitrous.

The biggest I would go on the stocker is the 675RS, 500rwhp on pump fuel.

This is the kit we sell

Well, may I be the first to offer my car, should you wish to build and demo a UK equivalent!

:D :D :D :D

think you might have to offer your wallet as well mate :wack: maybe your house too lol
