Not really an FAQ, but I'll try to help, as I fitted them to mine late '06.

Once you've taken the quarter panel off you'll end up with this.

All the holes are there in the proper places along with threads within, the lap belts uses the bottom one at the moment.

You'll have to remove this panel (along with the boot dampners, be VERY carfull here) and drill the hole, it's already marked on the reverse of the panel. Then re-fit the panel

Now all you have to do is trim the quarter panel in one place only.....

Fit the belt in place and torque up.

Place the quarter panel to where it will fit, and make a mark of where the belt crosses it...

Trim this with a sharp knife about 5mm into the panel, try the fit again and make sure the belt will run properly, if not trim a little more. If it fits OK, then you now need to make three small holes for the trim plate.

With three holes drilled, fit the trim and hold fast with the pop clips.

Now fit the quarter panel back in place....

Job done.

Just another image for you...

Is the grey bit I have drawn around in this picture something that I need to get hold of extra as my Z did not come with 3 point rear seat belts? Cheers.

That only came on series 2 interior and that's bolted on to the panel so I doubt that you can get it separately. If you got series 1 you could cut a hole.

Sorry, but I beg to differ! That plastic part was available on series one Zeds as well (I've got the brochure)

Speedemon, I got mine with the rest of the parts for the seat belts, so it's down to the person who is selling them. They are only held on with those serrated washers that you push on one way, but they don't come off very well (if you know what I mean)

That reminds me, only on UK series one zeds but not Jap series one zeds from what I've seen. :hyper:

Hi,

The other option is to do what I've just done and buy the rear belts and UK spec rear arch trims as well..they already have the cutouts in place.Might have to do some re-upholstery work too though!

Cheerz,

Jez

Did mine at the weekend and an easy job to do (even for me!). It's exactly as Dave discribes it. I don't have the plasticy things so cut the panel and re-trimmed it at the same time. Although not as professional as Dave's, it still looks good.

Thanks for the compliment, but that isn't my Zed ;) The car in the pics (with the interior fitted) belongs to SUFFOLKZX. I nicked the pics off him :D (and yes, he does know about it)

Arr, that's because JSpec series one's have lap only belts (that's what mine is)

Thought I'll clear things up a bit as I made a slight bit of a boo boo! :headvswal

Hi,

Must get mine fitted...How easy is it to remove the rear trim?...How many panels/screws/clips etc. have to be removed?

Cheerz,

Jez.
