If you want a TT, then go for one :D

I'm sure youwill regret it if you go for a N/A purely for monetry reasons. But if you realy don't want/need to extra umph then simply have the N/A and enjoy the pure magic of owning a Z32

welcome to the club.

i bought a na simply because i use mine as a daily driver and i couldnt honestly afford to replace a turbo if it goes wrong. i love it. its not as fast as a tt but fast enough for me.

Thankyou I don't really care about the money i've heard some stories that the TT is a bit troublsom and the N/A is pretty much bullet proof I'm viewing one tomorrow an N/A what should I look for when i'm checking it out ? its £2200 and looks Imaculate done 85000 miles Jap Import.....

Welcome aboard mate.

I could have got either and went for an NA as it was the best car I looked at.

Most of the time I'm chuffed to bits with it but sometimes I think about converting it to a TT (VERY expensive so I never have).

I was swayed as I'd just got rid of a 200SX S13 and the turbo had gone on that and cost me a lot to fix. If I was buying again... I'd probably go for a really clean, straight, genuine low mile freshly imported TT. But in a way it's a bigger gamble - those turbos can go and cost £2500 (IIRC) to get a garage to sort it. I'm happy withouth that extra worry.

And I still love my NA, it's an easier drive (I have driven a TT) and it's never gone wrong in three years (touch wood, now I've cursed it!).

The NA is quick but not really fast. If you want really fast, you want a TT.

What cars (or bikes) have you had before?

i know slick pete has a straight tt in black which has had the turbos replaced recently at a bargain price too.

If money's no problem, go for the TT.

I don't think it's any more troublesome than the NA other than the possibilities of the turbos failing - although they do run hotter under the bonnet (IIRC) and that can make wiring brittle etc not big issues though.

You can sort turbos and they'll be good for the next 60,000+ miles no worries. It just costs a bit.

aslong as its straight. you take it for a LONG test drive and dont let your heart rule your head. if somethng dont feel right dont buy it!.

the fairlady title is given to jdm models. the uk spec is still a fairlady its just as they are all 300zx's lol

It's a fair price if it's a good, clean car.

Slick Pete's TT is £2500 though - not a lot more if you do want a TT.

Gimme a call tomorrow mate.

01773 761238 or 07778 411568 and I will fill you in on some details. then you cane come up to Notts and try em both.

But its bed time now... for me anyway

TT's are just like any other car, if you dont maintain them properly or cane them every time you drive them, then they will go wrong. They are old cars now, and so is the N/A your interested in, things are going to wear out, they dont last forever which is why we keep rebuilding and fixin them. Go for the TT otherwise i think you will get bored with the N/A read how many threads there is on questions about converting to TT or making the N/A go faster, if you got it you can use it if you aint then you cant. Good luck with your choice and welcome.

Some VERY wise words here from "Essex Man"

Obviously as a long term NA owner I dont entirely agree with his view of the NA. There are just as many threads on moddifying TTs to go faster as well.

the advice on age and maintenance is spot on tho.

How many H or J plate Sierras or Cavaliers do you see on the motorways now. The 300ZX in either form is a hugely complex car in comparison to lowly fodder like Fiestas , Sierras etc so maintenance is important and faults are gonna occur. But for the money they are a huge bargain. IMO
