Right, my poor Zed over heated due to a little stupid water hose at the back of the engine dying on me. Anyway, I managed to get her back after 3-4 odd hours of just waiting around for her to cool down as I had no way of getting the Z towed back.

Sorted out the problems and now the Z just doesnt seem to be as responsive or as fast as it should be. I have yet to do a compression test but that will happen during the weekend. So if anyone knows, what possible damage to the engine could have been done?

Also, I've got this funny ticking noise coming from the engine bay when it's idle. What the hell is that about?!

could have done almost anything! cooked head gaskets, warped heads, partial siezure causing damage to pistons/bores - do a compression test 1st bud!

Possible head gasket probs. Done the same to mine but in a far bigger way. One bit of advice i can give, if you suspect gasket failure after compression test, don try it and do it yourself, with the engine still in situ. TOTAL NIGHTMARE. U will wish u hadnt started it, easier taking the engine out and then do it, lots of bolts and pipes very awkward to get to. Give it to someone who has a good knowledge of these engines.
