Ok since ive had my zed theres a really annoying rattle in one of the rear speakers, spoils the whole sound.

Anyway, want to fit some 6x9's or sommit but just wondered where other people have mounted there's as i cant see a decent place to mount?

For the rears most people go with 6x4, some people have fitted 6x9 but it involves a bit of cutting about.

some cars have the bigger BOSE speaker boxes and are easier to fit bigger speakers in.

Unfortunately your gonna have to cut the rear speaker mounts about if you wanna fit any bigger. Or someone on Ebay i believe is selling adapter plates for 6x9's.

I bought some JBL 6x4's off ebay for only 25 quid including delivery less than a week ago, they fit into the original brackets without modification and sound pretty decent.

Being small speakers they won't give you the thump of having 6x9's in the back but they sound better than the stocks and its literally a 5 minute job to swap 'em.

What kind of rattling is it though as it may be caused by loose screws allowing the speaker to wobble.

Al

I've got the same 6x4s in mine, great little speakers for their size and i have 4 ways 250w 6x9s in the front doors, take the metal braket out and mount them on the door cards and they're sound.

Good bass response too :D

alpine 6x4s in the rear and pioneer 6x9s in the front doors. It is quite easy to mod the front door cards. I did find that i couldn't fit the grills on the front speakers tho as there is not quite enough room.

IMO i would never put 6X9's in the front of any car... you cannot beat a good pair of 6.5" 2ways, Like Diomond Audio or DLS

TBH i would never us 6X9's full stop, but if you realy want a cheapfix for bass response on a budget then i suppose 6X9's fill the gap.. or you could use 6.5" and a few rolls of Dynamat Extream in there, and a 10" sub. thats the way i would go. :)

I fit some 6.5" components in the front and I have to say they were a pretty easy fit and you can't beat sound coming to you at more or less ear level rather than from your feet as 6x9's and coaxials do. Loads of threads on components v's 6x9's in the front though.
