Which plugs are better? Nissan ones!!!! They are the only ones with the correct reach etc...

Sounds like either that plug is dead or possibly the injector is stuck open/leaking...

Sounds a bit like a problem I had on an old Cav - turned out to be a knackered valve

Good point! Could well be a chipped/burnt valve. Compression test would answer that one. Does it get better once warmed up?

also worth doing a resistance check across the injector connections, although it wont tell you if there is a mechanical defect with the injector nozzle, it well tell you if the solenoid is defective.

Cheers, it happened a few months back before i went away to Afgan. I booted it causing the dipstick to fly out and then burn fuel like mad. Its not possible to drive. I have already changed the PCV valves and have tryed to run the oil out of the manifolds etc but i had the serious running prob. So i checked the plugs and one was soaked really bad. Was gonna carry out compression test because of the dip stick and suspect valve. Just its like the car out of James Bond LOL

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

Well its deffo piston damage and one will need replacing - either hole in the piston or cracked ring lands. Does it look like this?

That was with 3 cracked pistons :D

Nasty wee video there Andy. Other than the cracked pistons, was there alot of other damage ? Valves, heads, turbos, etc ?

Just the pistons surprisingly, although afterwards the exhaust needed a damn good flush out to remove half the north sea's oil reserves :D As long is the compression is low on that cylinder it should be ok - oil vapours drastically increase the chances of detonation in the combustion chambers, so if there's oil and compression you do run the risk of even more damage....

This is the problem I'm having with my car atm. It's the sixth cylinder that plays up, but only after a little run.

Changed spark plug and she ran on all six but just as I boost a bit she farts and 6th cyl stops again.

The car has elec boost controller and it's chipped but not decat. I can smeel a lot of fuel underneath the car. Nothing is leaking  I'm so tired.....help.

p.s. when I took the spark plug out and looked down I think I saw unburned fuel /?

matey sounds the same as mine bud , sorry

Yesterday I changed the spark plug again and took her for a 30 min drive without boosting and she's running fine on all six.

I think it all needs to be set up on rolling road.
