speedo keeps dropping off ???????????

hi all

 

i dont mean off the dash, but if i am driving along at any speed. it occasionally drops back down to zero, and then back to the speed i am doing!

but it only lasts a second or two?

 

any ideas why people?

it will either be speed sensor, or if an import and a speed convertor is fitted, they do fail on ocassions

 

as the speed sensor is connected to the steering have you noticed the power steering to go heavy?

Mine does this. I have the top of my instrument cluster undone and when the speedo dies I take it off and fiddle with the connectors at the rear and it comes to life!

well it did it again last night so in my temper i twated the dash and it came back on so i think that answers that. same as above!
