I'm Using a 16" kenlowe with a Koyo rad, i have an aftermarket temp gauge which shows that it does the job perfectly. Most of these fans can be swapped from suck to blow just by swappling the power wires around but mine is fitted engine side as a sucker.

that article is bullshit propoganda.

No way does the fan use 8.5% of the engine power, there is simply no way nissan would fit one to a performance car if this was the case.

Over cooling, wtf, have these guys not heard about those new fangled thermostats cars have nowadays

Viscous fans, run full speed all the time apart from when the stat is closed. What school did they learn at, idiots.

Less noise, you're having a laugh right. Have never noticed any noise from the viscous apart from for a few seconds after pulling away from a (long) standstill in hot weather. On the other hand, when that electric fan cuts in it sounds like a tornado under the hood.

Like I said

Of course numbers will vary with viscous fans

Most of thier figures will be for an oversized permanantly engaged fan with no viscous unit.

As for power increases with electric fans expect 1-3 hp if any doubt you will notive to be honest.

I talked to one of kenlowes top tech experts a while ago and he said that kenlowe produce nothing that come close to the spec of the zed fan!

The main advantage of an Electric fan is better cooling at low speed. Like Topless said the Z fan is better but only if you have some engine RPMs up. As for HP gains, if the electric fan isn't running and you don't have a viscous unit, there must be an advantage. I remember my Skyline on a hot summers day, the viscous unit is driving the fan hard at around 4000 rpm and when it started to free wheel, it was like someone taking the handbrake off. There was definately more than 1-3 hp difference.

sounds lkie a few pro,s and cons on this subject,my only worry about the electric one is if it packed up and cooked my zed  ,was just another thing on my want list, think i read somewhere u can also wire it to the air con fan 4 extra cooling!!!!!!!!and hav an overide switch in the car!!!!!!!,any extra bhp even if small is all good, dont u think :D

Nothing wrong with the original viscous cooling fan in my opinion,As the old saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it...

Here we go again. Do a search mate on "electric fan". This was covered a couple of weeks ago. Or send Markzx a pm. He's got a fan fitted but not a kenlowe one.

Ivan

Fitted a Pacet on mine..........then again I had to!

Original Viscous,in good nick, well upto the job IMO! ;)

where do you set the extra switch for the fan?

Does anyone has a drawing about how to wire from the switch please?

thank you
