I'm thinking of taking my two little ones down to London in the Half Term Holiday, to visit The Science and The Natural History museums.

Neither the kids nor myself have been before, so I'm sure we'll all have a good time :D

One question though, do you think we could do both places in one day? Or do you think I should have a stop-over?

TIA

In location terms , they`re right next to each other . As for how long you , or the little `uns want to spend in them , just play it by ear . Depends what time you get there , I suppose . HTH

Oh come on

first ever visit for you and the kids

got to be a stop over

Buck Palace, London Eye,St Pauls Westminster Abbey,Big Ben, Tower of London, British Museum,Cutty Sark and lots lots more

Even tell your kids that Steve Burns lives not far away, no better not

If its thier first time and coming by train stay over for as long as you can and show them the lot

you have got to take them to the London Dungeons its a must you will love it as much as them too. Also the London aquarium is pretty cool as is HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge Traffalga square etc the list goes on and on Covent Garden, and of cause Soho for yourself lol. To be honest there is so much to see and do you have to stop over but even 2 days wouldnt be enough time

The London Museum is probably about the best museum, has won various awards, don't tell the missus that harrods is down the road from the Science museum :D

You've gotta stay over mate... you'll love it! the Science museum is Excellant... been there about 20 time and not got bored.. Natural History museums great too but it's HUGE!!!!! Anyhow mate stay over as to do the Journey and Museums in a day might be pushing it a bit for the little uns depending on their ages!!!!

Have Fun Bud!!!!

Natural History Museum is excellent and great for kids. You could easily spend the best part of a day just in there.

I have to disagree with Nick about the Tate Modern - I went a couple of months ago and thought it was 98% rubbish. Each to their own though! :)

Thanks peeps :D  all appreciated.

I'll have to see what funds permit, but I'm defo liking the FREE stuff!!

I have been to London on a few occasions myself, with various females in the past ;) but never got to see all that much of London ;)

I'll have to find a decent localised hotel and work out what they and myself would like to see down there. I did consider the Imperial War Museum, but then remembered that its on the South side over the Elephant & Castle area, so might be a bit far out, although I'm sure it's not too long a ride on the Underground.

I'll have to see if i can find a map of interesting places to visit, so i can see everything at hand.

Again, thanks for all the replies.

There's a hotel in putney (safe area)good views of the river and reasonably priced, it's a tube ride into town of about 20mins to get to the sci/nat museums, it all really depends on how much you want to spend?

Well so far I've found a family room at the Travel Lodge, Kings Cross (Yes I'm aware of the area ;) ) for £70.

So whats the prices like? They got a web address?
