I've lost all power in the garage - lights and sockets.

The garage has its own RCD trip switch thing. It has a test button which should turn the power off. It doesn't work - when I push it nothing happens. Could this be why I've lost all power in the garage?

Cheers!

Nice one Dave - cheers!

We've been in this house a month - the boiler's needed a new PCB, the cooker element's gone, and the power has failed to the garage.

Where does the garage's RCD get it's power from, is it straight ff the mains? or does it come from the main fuse board in the house? thats assuming the garage has it's own board.

If it was all working when you moved in i'd be inclinded to check the connection to the garage's RCD, or as above the RCD couldhave given up the ghost, what Ampage is it?

I'm an electrician and have a few lying about might be able to sort one out for you,

I think the garage RCD power comes straight from the meter. It's seperate to the main house and none of the switches on the house RCD have been affected.

I'll check what ampage it is tomorrow in the light.

Cheers!
