The garage just fitted Bosch FR7DPP22U plugs.

Are they right for my NA?

I thought the previous set sould have been good for 60,000 miles so I'm a bit surprised they changed them.

Now you tell me! What's specifically wrong with them? I just paid the best part of £50 for the kuntz!

It's all heresay and piffle!

They're probably all made in the same factory in China.

Has anyone got first hand experience of problems with Bosch plugs?

NGK plugs specifically made for the 300zx.... other makes dont have correct fitment, with the tip either protruding too much or not enough into the heads for what nissan designed.

Will affect how the spark detonates with the fuel mixture

The manufacturer will just link the closest match to what it is currently manufacturing!

So I'm guessing I'll get reduced performance / fuel economy then?

The car seems to be running ok... is it really worth changing them?

I'm sure if I go back to the local garage and say "some people on the internet say you fitted the wrong plugs" they won't give me a refund / change them.

I guess this is what I get for using a non-specialist garage! I had the 60,000 mile service done last year by Zen Garage  and I thought I could avoid the travelling this year and get some local guys to do this service as not much would need doing.

I alway thought bosch was a quality german made plug could be wrong though.

An older thread I resurrected suggests they're not quite the right length - for a TT - but I dunno if it will be a problem on m NA...

60k service last year at Zen? Surely that included a new set of NGK's. I'd not be overly happy being charged for new plugs when they are both not necessary and the wrong type.

I'll check my receipts - I'm pretty sure Jeff put a new set in about 2-3 years ago anyway. And they should last 60,000 miles.

So do I go back and complain? I might get some money back but I could never use thew place for MoTs again if I kick up a real fuss - they are quite handy as they don't mind a bike with a loud exhaust. I'll probably just never take the car there again.

In all fairness to them, the plugs are due to be changed at 60,000 miles and my car had 59,000 on the clock...

IIRC Craig had a cambelt service but if he checks his receipt it will be on there whether we changed the plugs and if we did then they would well within spec and should not have been changed!
