I've just got a set of new (well used) wheels.

I need locking wheel nuts.

The front wheels have quite a long, narrow 'well' that the wheel nuts sit in. The wheel nuts provided are long and thin and have the hex on the inside.

Can I get locking nuts like this? Any idea where from?

Cheers! :duffer:

yes, purchased a set of those a couple of weeks ago, give http://www.swtyres.co.uk a ring they will have them in stock for delivery

Nice one mate!

I called them, they knew exactly what I meant and they've got them on todays courier so I'll have them tomorrow.

Cheers!

Did either of you guys have Rays VolkRacing wheels on ? I`ve got 17" ones , the same as on my last car ( a Prelude ). It used normal wheelnuts , but the Zed needs Allen-key type . Did that tyre firm need to know the exact size of the nuts ?

Thanks in advance

Sorry - I have different wheels.

The tyre place seemed to know exactly what I needed even from my basic description.

McGuard list a narrow set of locking wheel nuts, my Racing Sparco wheels needed them, I think they call them tuner bolts, they are available from Halfords and as far as I know the only locking wheel nuts that are Thatcham approved.

And they arrived - and don't fit.

They have some more which they'll send after I've returned these. Shame - I wanted to get the wheels on this weekend.

These nuts are Wolfrace ones - the 'key'/socket is too broad to fit into the well the nut goes in. I think the McGuard Tuner ones SuffolkZX mentioned are the ones to go for.

And the next set arrived - and they're wrong too! WHat a bunch of incompetent fuk ups.

They should be a 1.25 thread pitch but they're 1.5.

I can't believe they sent the wrong ones twice. I really wanted to get these wheels on soon but it's just not happening.

Plus once I've taken these back to the post office (again) with the time I've spent jacking the car off, taking the old wheels off, it's about three hours I've wasted.

I'm self employed so that's about half a day down the drain.

Does anyone know the name of the boss of this SW Tyres place?

The lad I spoke to whole only give me the first name of his immediate manager.

" time I've spent jacking the car off "

Mr Craig David , now I know you`re very fond of your car , but REALLY.......
