Not talking about hire cars or cars you've borrowed etc....has anyone had a free car they've used as their chariot? Southwestzedmech need not reply...he's had hundreds of free cars! LOL

I was chatting with a mate last night about free cars and managed to dig out some photos of a Senator that I was given some 5 years ago.

Chap at work gave me this when I was working up at the MOD site in Malvern. It was just his daily runner. My car at the time was off the road and this Senator became surplace to his requirements. So he duly handed over the keys and told me that it was mine. Not bad considering it was in pretty good condition, had only 90k on the clock, had tax and ticket AND fuel in it.

Was an absolute dream to drive. Like driving a huge armchair.

Learning how to do a burn out in an auto was kinda interesting.

I've just been given a 1.4 Astra Estate by my mate who just bought a new car :)

Comes in usefull for moving Z spares about and all the other stuff I can't fit in a Z :D

Runs and drives great and uses a quarter of the fuel of the Z :o

Has a dent in the front passenger wing and needs a wheel trim but other than that it's in great nick.

That's pretty good for a free car. Can't go wrong with an Astra. Maintain them with a knife and fork!

:) ;)

He had to assemble it from a pile of stolen parts left in a skip outside a certain "Z Specialists"

Seized turbo, low compression on number 6 and a slight PS leak. Bit of standard nissan brown in the usual places....

Many thanks to Mark for his incredible generosity :)

Bargain then! LOL Ideal blank canvas for someone wanting to build a mental Z. But I'm sure that car's in a million peices by now.

Do you have a spare driver's door lock Andy?

Nope all still in one piece ;) Need to get under it to see if the chassis is solid enough before deciding on what to do with it properly.

You could have the one from my white one mate but I don't have a bloody key for it anymore... Need I say why?....... ;)

I don't need the key. Just the little plastic lever/connector that sits behind the driver's lock. Mine's broken. :(
