tried that as well its even stopped me going to restore points, my kids are always on msn, which i think is the biggest culprit for all this shite geting on ffs

running out of ideas looks like another re install of winxp ffs

ftp://dnl-eu2.kaspersky-labs.com/trial/registered/3NKDGRXIM7FJ5ZTSIAFW/kis6.0.1.411en.exe

click it and download to desktop, what ever crappy anitvirus software you have got uninstall it, restart, install that, when it gets to the activation page, connect to the internet click in the 30day trial, let it connect and authorise, disconnect from internet and finish installation.

restart, connect to net, update then do a full scan, also it will flag up any crap in the startup scan procedure you may get some windows telling you want its found.

in the bottom right of the screen you will see a red K, click that up comes the kaspersky window, click the settings green tick, in the left hand menu click scan, then on the right click on "do not prompt for action" t hen click on the apply button next to the words " you can apply these settings to all other scan tasks" then click the bottom apply

then in the left click the word "service" and on the right unclick the "enable notifications" this puts it into stealth mode. and will not bother you again.

i bet after the first start up, update and full scan it clears it all off in one go.

if your stuck gimme a call i have pm'd you my number.

Si recently advised me to install the Kaspersky suite of protection software and I must say that it's been absolutely fantastic. I previously have been running McAfee, and a host of anti-spy/adware suites and after installing Kaspersky it got rid of another 18 virusses/spyware/adware crap!

I did however encounter the same problem you've been having - internet sites being redirected to porn sites, etc. Did a quick search and found they all went through jupk.com. Another search revealed it to be further spyware and recommended the way to get rid of it. Can't remember now what it was as it's on my desktop and not my laptop from which I'm typing now.

Can highly recommend the Kaspersky suite!

You need to run a current antivirus.

Best 3 adware programs out tehre

adaware (free)

Spybot (free)

and Spyware Doctor

Microsoft have a free spysweeper as well. They all run independantly of each other so no conflicts there.

Best of teh bunch atm is spy doctor, but you have to purchase it.

Failing that. re-install mate.

You need to run a current antivirus.

in order: ok, crap and really crap.

best one to use period, xoftspy pro and also use with adaware pro, the two companies who make these bits of software work hand in hand helping each other out. only two that do really, i only install those on new machines with kaspersky... never had one come back to me in the two years i have done home edition pcs so i must be doing something right.

as for kaspersky get that on and installed and run the updater etc, then do a scan, also boot up in safe mode and run a scan from there you may find something but i doubt it, kaspersky grabs everything from initial start up and scans it.

if your still stuck let me know.

hi si , installed the kaspersky, and full set up, its got rid off the url problem, it found 389 problems, which spybot/adaware/adalerter which i just paid for didn,t but my mc ran slow, so i uninstalled, but it migh have been conflicting with my existing anti virus software

cheers anyway ,,top man

richard

dont uninstall it!!!!!!!!!!

uninstall your old antivirus software, and any other crap you have got on there!!

you only need kaspersky on there, yes it will run slow and have problems with more than one anti virus software on there.

re download it again, re-install, apply 30 day key, after you have uninstalled that other crap which has been proven to be no good!!
