Being fed up with the stupid hazard light not working the way it should due to a tiny bit of plastic breaking (aint that always the case), I thought why not get a nice new switch and move it some where else where it might actually work for once.

Anyone done this before? Any diagrams on how to do so?

not really possible, the hazard switch controls the indicators too, without it you don't have any.

Do you mean that if I removed the hazard switch itself the indicators wouldnt work? As my one doesnt have the hazard switch and the indicators do still work.

I dont really see why I cant just rewire and relocate it, using a new non-OEM hazard switch.

you need to have a look at a wiring diagram - it's not just a simple on-off switch... you might not have the button, but you will have the control unit inside the pod connected. I tried to do just what you're saying & ended up with very strange outcomes - closest i got was I could only indicate right, but if I put the hazards on while indicating the bulbs just went on constant (i think that's what i got!)

Anyway, gave up and fixed the broken casing inside the pod!

Mine have been misbehaving too. Sometimes the indicators work and sometimes they come on but don't flash. Seems to be on a by-journey basis rather than by-use which is really weird!

Believe me, i spent a good 2 hours on the drive with multimeters running through the hazard switch and the indicator stalk working out where everything goes and it's a huge job figuring it out.

I should have really popped the diagram on the board but i think i chucked it.

Eventually tracked the indicators not working to a dirty connector inside the hazard switch but i wouldn't like to try and rewire the hazard switch anywhere else, there's about 6 wires or so connected to it

why not just replace the pod/switch thats broken, they are readily and cheaply available

I could but I just wanted to see if I could move the thing somewhere else so both pods look balanced.

Legrath, that might be the solution to my problem. What bit do you think I need and how much do you reckon it would cost?

take the pod apart and you'll see that the hazard switch mounting points locate into a threaded section of plastic (awful design) so when it snaps, the switch doesn't locate perfectly anymore... i fixed mine with a length of threaded bar and some nuts to hold the switch correctly - open it up, it's easy to see what's wrong.

get some super glue - they do one for hard plastics - works really well. Holds my dash together. It comes with a felt-tip pen to prime the plastic surfaces. Highly recommend it.

Good luck
