No way you will get the top left cover off without removing those pipes. Only 6 bolts anyway why don't you want to pull them off?

iv had problems withte ruber tubes leaking in the past. Do you think the main pully needs to come off aswell? i dont think thair are any bolts under that part of the cover but i dont remember

Yes it will, because the lower belt cover needs to come off, can't get it off with the crank pulley in situ.

Whats the real issue? Is the pump definately US?

When i first bought my Z i had a water leak and suspected the pump and had this replaced by a nissan mechanic to solve the leak...No joy in fixing the problem and i still had a leak!

I learned after joining the forum that the two tubes feeding the top water pipe are prone to failure and should be replaced whenever delving into this area for the sake of a few quid!! This wasn't done when i did my pump and i ended up doing this myself which is a much smaller job than the pump and solved my problem....

If you've done the pump once already and these pipes weren't changed then i'd bet that one of these have a split which opens when warmed and water runs down past the pump making it appear that the pump is gone!

Worth checking these before delving in deep!
