I've got an Apexi Powerflow Air filter in my zed, I vaguely remember hearing that you can clean them... has anyone done this or know how it's done?

Thanks

Cheers, i'll give that a go when I geta chance.

I pinched this from somewhere before, think it was Danny from DTA -

A'PEXi filters are so-called "dry type" filters meaning the filter media is not soaked in any type of oil. This makes it very easy to clean as all you need to do is run it under a luke warm tap and gently brush any big particles off the wire mesh with a soft brush (don't apply too much pressure as this will most definitely ruin the filter media). Allow the filter to dry out completely and reinstall. The drying out part is very important as you don't want any water droplets to hit the AFM element. DO NOT APPLY ANY TYPE OF FILTER OIL AFTER CLEANING THE FILTER - THIS WILL RUIN IT!

Just make sure its 100% dry before refitting, or it can damage the MAF.

does this mean if it gets wet whilst on the car the maf could get damaged also?

Yep, same as per all aftermarket Induction kits. Not a problem if you retain the splashgaurds, and if you have a vented nose panel then its not a bad idea to make a splash gaurd above the filter too.
