Moving house - thoughts / observations / rants

Well I'm about to move house.

First time i've sold one and bought another at the same time. Not an easy / stress free experience.

The solicitor was slow / lazy. We've just exchanged contracts today and we're moving house on Friday. How shyte - and no solicitor is cheap. I think she'd have left it to the day before if I hadn't harassed her so much.

We managed to sell out house without using an estate agent - this saved quite a bit of cash. We put it on http://www.rightmove.co.uk and put up a board - it was the board that sold it. Thoroughly recommended.

The Government get their hands in the till again with stamp duty - I'm getting p1ssed off - you can't do anything without paying tax.

And how did I get so much shyte in the loft? :slap: Anyone want to buy a single roller blade? Or a George Forman Grill?

Nightmare. Good luck with the move on Friday though :)

I'm going through the same thing.Solicitors and estate agents are a waste of space :xxx: .Your paying top dollar and you have to ring them everyday to kick there arse.We ring them everyday and become a nuisance just so they get there finger out of there arse. It seems to work :slap:

I'm about to buy another house (if all goes well  )I've noticed you get ripped off with a mortgage!! Your going to be paying them interest, but you still pay an arrangement fee!! WTF's that all about?? Then you have to pay this, and then that, at the end of the day it'll probably cost me about £2k in fees!! What a ****ing waste of money! And I'm not even selling anything
