I didn't know the rear screen had an aerial fitted. I this you'll probably have to buy one from a car stereo shop that fits to the glass.

I think it is built into the screen heater, its the square section at the top.

it is indeed, and it wired up as standard, unplug the mast aerial and you should still get a signal.

No such luck, I'll get a digital arial and fit that, that will sort it all out.

Why do you want to remove the aerial out of interest? Also, why is your numberplate stuck to your bumper in a very strange position?

I remember reading a thread about relocating the arial to the inside of the car. It's on one of the American 300ZX site, basically what they did was remount the ariel on it's side just behind the light cluster so it extends from drivers side rear light to passenger side. Of course you'll have to make sure when the arial extends there isnt anything in it's way.

I'm sure you're right Clarkey, scrawni will find there are TWO aerial inputs going into the back of the radio, the fatter one is from the retractable aerial and the thinner one is from the screen aerial.

I had a jap radio fitted to my Zed when it came in from Japan and I have now fitted a European system. One of the requirements was an adaptor to accept the two jap aerial inputs and reduce them to one euro input plug.

I have to admit I haven't tried to use the screen cable on its own but I see no reason why it shouldn't work O.K.

It maybe that scrawni's Zed already had a euro radio fitted when he bought the car and perhaps whoever did the conversion didn't include the thinner screen cable, but I am sure it will still be there tucked away behind the radio and it should be possible to bring it back into use very easily.

Well Mr Funkster Sir, I had an arial that went up and down when I got the car but that snapped off at speed, so then I replaced the head unit before the arial, but now the arial doesn't go up or down, no biggy I thinks I will sort that out when I can be bothered.

But now I am looking at places to mount a couple of subs and the inside of the rear arches are quite cavanous, so I was thinking of takeing the arial out completely and turning the space into sub box's.

And as for the number plate, why is it in a strange position.
