HICAS warning light

Hi guys,

Just got a Z but the Hicas light is on. I've tried to get into the self diagnosis routine by doing the steering wheel and brake peddle then drive a bit to get the ecu to flash up the error codes thing but nothing is happening, I think it may be the fluid levels as when the car is parked level and started the warning light comes on straight away but when the car is on an incline and started the light goes off until you touch the steering wheel. However the fluid level looks ok, do these things get airlocked? can they be bled ? also the steering pump does while noticeably. The car has been substantially lowered could this be causing problems ? it's a late 91 J plate TT import.

Any info greatly appreciated.

cheers guys.
