Speedometer

Hi my speedo seems to work most of the time, however, sometimes it completely cuts out and goes to zero. Then it decides to work again. anyone have this same problem? it must be something to do with the sensors. this also happens with the turbo guage but not very often.

    Is the car Jap or UK? If it's Jap I suspect its the converter unit that fits behind the speedo cluster. Does the steering go heavy or light?
