Brake Upgrade amongst other things!!!

Recommended Posts

I know this has probably been covered a hundred and one times but new products may be available...who knows!!

Anyway my ill fated zed :wack: is due to grace my prescence again tomorrow evening  having had the tubs replaced and the engine 'tuned' and all the dodgy old pipes replaced for good measure!!! I'm looking for some good brakes to go under some 19" rims I'm eyeing up!!!! Not only must they do the job but I'm also looking for some good lookers with loads of grooves and drilled surface area!!!

I don't want to spend an absolute fortune....although I probably will as usual.

While I'm at it does anybody have......

Standard electric folding jap mirrors in black

A suspension set up

19" rims going cheap....

regards

Rob

i have a pair of black j spec folding mirrors £50 pair delivered

if your retaining the stock callipers then the hawk hps front pads are a nice setup and bite really well, or for a little more money ferrodo ds pads are awesome but will set you back around the £120 for the fronts alone

suspension if on a budget id go for the kyb AGX ajustables with eiback pro springs most people who have this combo like it! and is 50 times better over stock and for under £500 you cant go wrong

cheers greg

Cheers greg I'll take the mirrors tomorrow providing the car comes back working.....no guarantees with that thing!!!

I'm keen to get good looking disks to go behind some nice rims but thanks for the pad advice I'll be needing them too!!!!!

As for the suspension you suggested i do like my cars low...for cosmetic reasons not comfort!!! Are these adjustable height wise?

Brembo makes some decent drilled/slotted rotors, for all four, around $300-350 I don't know what that tranlates to in the U.K :)

Thats between 170 and 200 pounds!!!!!! I can't imagine that they will be so cheap in the UK!!!! I did just check on the US ebay though and there was ,some cheap gear on there compared to here...problem is they don't deliver here!!

Guest colonel

If you got 19" you might wanna use bigger discs/callipers as well, for the looks and, of course, the effect. We use a lot of Porsche 993 Bi-Turbo drilled 332mm discs and callipers (Brembo), installed with a bracket. This will deliver better looks with the big wheels and stop the fading of the OEM brakes, once the Brembos have warmed up. Costs for new parts are around 1,5k (used ones around 1k) and with the bracket it´s almost a direct bold. Callipers are not too grooved, though.

Regards

Alex
