Red Stuff pads - not impressed

Fitted some Red Stuff front pads in the middle of Feb and they are down to about 3mm left!

They have been superb but at about £90 squids for 2 months wear I am devastated.

Thats like putting a normal set on each month!

It's not even my main car - just wish i'd noted the milage when i'd fitted 'em.

They make so much brake dust too.

Anyone else used them and found this?

Chris I pay £130 for carbon kevlar front pads from SE,they done around 12k and are just over half worn, don't throw any where near the dust that yours do,are you sure your callipers are not sticking???

My disks are Tormoz grooved and drilled.

Had them on with other pads and had no real problems.

I can't see that both calipers would suddenly start sticking...

Seeing your wheels today mate was not good! Arse pads in my opinion, I've got the Metal Master pads that came with my Stillen kit still to go on so I'll see how I get on. Otherwise it's the carbon kevin jobs that Iain has from SE! wink.gif

Even nicer zorst note though bud ROFLMFAO biggrin.gif wink.gif

I've just taken my worn Red Stuff pads off and they lasted one year, I drive it 40 miles a day to and from work EVERY day and had none of the problems you mentioned - brake dust was minimal (until near the end) and wear was very good. Either - you didnt get proper red stuff (doubtful) you have seized calipers so they are constantly binding or - they pads were duff. BTW I have normal discs - they cost £60 each when I bought them 2 years ago, only vented no grooves or other fancy stuff.

I'd call EBC and send one to them with a letter of complaint.
