where can i get decent firewall protection (for free lol), my free norton subs has run out (it was shite anyway)

Try 'Zone Alarm'-search the site for a free download :D

windows built in firewall does a good job for nothing and doesn't **** up your computer either ;)

have used zone alarm for ages now and find it fine

Very good piece of software inc firewall/anti-virus/anti-spam and doesn't slow everything down like some.

AVG - seems to handle all my security very well. Free with regular updates, better than Norton.

get a router, that will act as a firewall, and just use Windows basic firewall.

If he's been using Norton Internet Security then he's probably lost firewall, anti-virus and anti-spam all in one go - which routers and Windows Firewall don't replace.

AVG would do for free anti-virus but it's far from perfect.

Zone Alarm here too! :bow: gives you excellent program-by-program control of how much access you want to allow it.

i use avg, and also have aol protection, just at the sign on screen it says no firewal detected (since i unistalled norton)(which subscription had run out anyway)

i dont see why not. ive had Z.A. running with Norton 2005 for ages. perfect combination!

It has it's own anti-virus system so you could get rid of AVG if you want or have both for extra protection.

just uninstalled zone alarm, totally fooked my tinterweb up lol

kaspersky, there is even a 64bit version for those who need it.

 

i use it for home builds and business and corporate clients.
