BAFFLED ?????????

Okay, takes me motor for a spin, no probs, stop for 10 mins and get back in, switch Ign on and i get the engine check light and sub fan on, switch off and switch on again, all okay, get 50 yrds down the road, engine check light and sub fan on, car now runs really ruff under load, fuel smells and splutters, limp home, get the papers for ecu diag, pull out ecu and switch ign on, no check light or sub fan and code 55, so thinks just a gliche, put ecu back, start car and check light is back with sub fan, do ecu diag but it won't, turn screw back and forth in the mammner your supposed too and all i get is a pernament red light, no flashes and problem still there, cannot get a reading other than solid red light !!!!

any ideas guys ?????????

(sorry buts its my only suggestion, but I have become strangely obsessed by this little sensor)

 

Did you actually get into ECU diag mode or not mate? - screwy temp sensor can cause wierd secondary fan activity if I remember right from my 5 bloody hours on ttnet last night frown.gif

He had a fucked wire, cut or sheared off:

Only problem no one replied and explained permenant redlight and no error code flash frown.gif

 

Sounds ECU-ish tho - eek you didnt socket that smelly chip I sent you did you --

Cheers Glen, his symptoms are the same as mine, so will check for broken wires tomorrow, but he never said by fixing it, it cured his problem and yes that chip is in the car at the mo, will try another ecu as well methinks........
