I have provisonally sold my crx so i can now start the hunt for a zed.

After reading the forum and having a little think im pretty sure i kno wwhat im after so just looking for your input as well.

 

The criteria

 

Budget - £2500 - £3000

Use - Mainly motorway trips up to Dundee and back.

Must have - Targas, Manual gearbox

Would Like - Leather, Cruise Controll

Track Days - no track or drag days

 

So i recon im after a N/A, even though the insurence on the TT is cheaper by around £200 im guessing the reduced maintanence costs and petrol costs will even it out.

What do you think?

Go for a TT, much more fun, check out the for sale section, but get your wallet ready, buy one from someone on here, youll get a better example, rather than going on fleabay.

TT Manuals are getting harder too find. but the N/a as just a good, shop around you will know when you have seen a good one. You never go back

Is the insurance cheeper cos its a UK TT or Import TT? Best off finding out first bud as there is a differance (well for me anyway)

Bear in mind it took me nearly 6 months to find a UK TT with a manual box with leather.

Never driven an na Z but on the motorway TT's make you grin (not saying na's don't ;) )

go to a local meet and ask for a ride in a tt and na, then make your mind up, seeing these beasts and the people that own them is much better than reading the stats, if you get a good tt, you wont be looking at much more to run than an na with the type of drivingyou are doing

 

but im not saying na's are shite, cause people that have them love them

 

and to just rub it in a bit, you missed out on an minter na (peach's old green meanie)

It was only cheaper doing a quote for a UK TT. Import TT's are really expensive through Elephant.

Import N/A is only about £150 more expensive than my CRX which is pretty good going and almost £1000 cheaper than my old Skyline GTST.

I have an NA and bought it after driving a TT.

 

I just went to the best car I could regardless of spec.

 

The NA is swift but not really fast. A TT running right is quite a bit quicker and much easier to tune.

 

If you want a fast car, the TT's the way forward. I think the worst turbos can do is cost you £1500-£2000 to replace if they go.

 

As for fuel costs, NA are better round town, TT on motorway due to higher overall gearing. Overall the NA is probably a fraction cheaper on fuel but there's probably very little in it.

 

As for leather you can always get a decent interior (4 seats) for about £300 I think if you find a car you really like with fabric seats.
