Sorry, it was a cheap shot I know. They're pretty decent cars from what I've heard, and they can look good if it's not too overdone. Any decent garage should be able to do a cambelt service for you. I'm guessing it's going to weigh in at £250 - £300 but that is just a wild guess.

Bought!!!!!!!!!

C'mon, I can't believe people can be that illiterate!!!!!

This mistake is the most common I've ever seen, followed by 'their/there/they're'.....

unless used in the sense: "I just brought it [from where it was] [to here]"

but BTTT, I always fancied a Calibra while I had my Cav GSi (spookily enough ive just posted about that about 2 mins ago!). Really wanted the 4x4 Turbo but a 2.0 16v would have done me. Lets just say I skipped that part out and went for something a lot meatier! :hyper:

I,ve had a Calibra but it was the Turbo

I also had a V6 Cavalier. I bought it for our lass as it was cheap

BECAUSE the cambelt had gone. It was a lovely car though.

When you do the Cambelt You must replace the tensioners this is a mistake

I have Known a few make and on this engine as on the Alfa's

IT WILL GO BANG IF YOU DO NOT DO IT

Agree with Allan. It's not a bad job to do yourself. The Cam sprockets are loaded though, so you'll need to clamp them. There's a special cam lock tool you can get, but a set of mole wrenches should suffice.

There are 3 rollers on the C25XE. Two are located on a bracket assembly and are adjustable. There's a 3rd lower down as well....which I think is fixed and doesn't need adjusting.

Replace the water pump too while everything's off. Quite easy to do and they aren't expensive.
