on the drive in to work this morning someone T boned my zed! gutted as i was just getting her how i wanted after lots of £££ spent (same old story!)

The girl that hit me went striaght over a stop junction and hit me square in the passenger side of the zed spinning me 270degrees and putting the back of my zed up the kerb (some going for a 106!)

Il post some pics in a bit but basically from the front wheel arch to the middle of the rear wheel arch is now kind of 106 shaped! Sills bent (maybe chassis cant make it out from the mess!) , doors distroyed and the a pillar is broken!

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Im guessing they are going to right the car off? So expecting some stuipid insulting offer of £2000 or something ****!!!!!!!

So gutted! I hope they will repair it, but i seriously doubt it! And now ive got to spend lots of time taking my carpc back out of the car as if they are righting it off no way they getting my car pc for nothing (does mean double work if i get another zed to refit the fcuker though! just gets better!)

That sucks big time, I think we all know how much you love your car.

I hope its not too bent you can't fix it.

Christ mate, hope you're okay. The roads are a nightmare at the moment to drive on so i'm not suprised someone crashed in this club :(

Cheers guys! Already thinking about whats the best way forward... incase the worst does happen, how does it work with buying a car back from the insurance company? (as in how much do they ask roughly...) and how much back do you get for your car etc..

not got the skills to break it i dont think but still can get most of the aftermarket stuff off and then think about saving for another zed and putting them back on to it..

(guessing with ym damage its likely to be a right off as a 15yr old zed that needs half the car replacing even just cosmetic will be too much to ask?)

thats absolutely gutting news mate i really feel for you. losing control yourself and planting it is one thing - its your fault (in most ways) and thats that, but when youre doing everything right and some d!ckhead hits you cos they were going too fast or not watching what they were doing, that makes it all the worse cos there was nothing you could have done about it. i hope it works out for you in the end mate.

"i was looking at my oil light on the dashboard so didnt see you" quote from the scene! :( il post the pics when i get them off my phone later i guess.. off to take my carpc out now..

gutted for you Pal ........so long as you and she walked away unhurt is all that counts , but i bet that whiplash injury you just have fund out you had .., remember !!! will net you a couple of grand to put towards the pathetic amount the insurance will cough up ....and the way zed prices are at the moment you should be able to pick up a decent car fairly cheaply , put you own stamp on it and be zedding again in no time ...good luck

steve

I think, but could be wrong, that if its not your fault then you don't have to buy the car off the insurance they just pay you what its worth and you keep it.

I don't know about the catagories for repair and all that but you could get it looked at and maybe repaired, or better still I know where there is a nice solid shell that you could build up.

ahhh a bit of a personal injury claim up then !!! buy ya new zed with that i got 2500 for getting smacked by a piss head 4 years ago !!!

Just make sure the insurance bods don't cart the car off to the scrappy before you get your bit out of it.

Hope you are okay, and you don't have a fight with the insurance peeps.

All the best

sorry to hear about this love, its awful, just gald your ok thats the main thing.

Same thing happened to me in 2002, a guy t-boned my first Zed coming straight over a T junction. It took a year and a half to sort out but I got £6000 for the Zed and £2000 for whiplash, I also claimed for loss of earnings. I wanted to buy the car back but the tw@ts in the recovery place had left it outside in the rain for months and it ruined the interior.

mine doesnt look much different to yours glen to be honest! damage extends a bit further forward and looks a bit worse towards the rear sill / wheel.

Guessing its then end for my zed then!

Thanks for all the support thought guys, deffinatly helps!

Sh1t mate - what rotten luck.

I hope there's not too much grief and you get sorted fairly quickly one way or the other.

Very sorry to hear that. There are people in this world who just don't seem to know what those lines across a T junction mean which I find utterly baffling, but anyway. The main thing is you're still in one piece. Could have been a lot worse if something coming the opposite way had also hit you as you spun across the road. :-S

and claim for loss of earings etc etc

You lost your earings? Shit that must have hurt

What a bummer :(

See how much they want for your Z but if you're not sure about breaking it then it might not be worth buying back.

Ive got to get it back, between the hids, big brake kit refinished interior braided hoses etc etc its got to worth more to me than a scrappy! Just a case of sorting the hasslte, and how much time i can find to break the damn thing!

Bad luck mate - been there and its gutting.

Don't let them tell you you can't have the scrap of the car - it still belongs to you, the trick is to negotiate hard for the value you want + the car back. Get some clippings of similar Zeds from autotrader, make a list of your mods (hope you decalred any!) and attach a value to them and ask any garages / specialists on here to write a valuation for you if you've used them.

Bombard them with evidence that yours is worth more than the £1500 that will be in the utter shite that is glasses guide etc and simply refuse to accept offers that they throw at you until you are happy. I had to go through all this just to get a half decent sum for my UK when it was wrecked but eventually they saw it my way :headvswal

"i was looking at my oil light on the dashboard so didnt see you" quote from the scene! Full concentration then? hmm but they are still the safest drivers, b0ll0cks hope she gets a kick in from her other half.

I only got half the value of my first zed back when it was stollen and written off had to fight for that too, they where offering me the price of Z31's that they had seen on Auto Trader, good research i thought so had to send pics and values of same spec vehicles to insurence, took almost a year.

What ever they offer never accept first or second offer.

Anyway sorry to hear your bad luck hope you get it sorted 1 way or the other, just breaks your heart

Don't let them tell you you can't have the scrap of the car - it still belongs to you,

once the insurance has paid out it belongs to the insurance company. Unless you accept the car as part settlement.

Some insurance companies put the cars out to tender , others put them thru salvage auctions.

I know of a nice TT (well nice pre accident!!) that made close to £1000 at a salvage auction.

Can people stop crashing their zeds! Please!
Shouldn't that read 'Can people stop crashing INTO OUR zeds! Please!'
