Handbrake light keeps coming on.

It lies. It comes on intermittently when the handbrake is clearly not on. Just started doing it the day before yesterday. Seems to be mainly set off by turning hard right. Turning left afterwards causes it to flick off again. I'm assuming it's a dodgy sensor or relay or something like that but just wanted to check that it couldn't be something more serious? The handbrake is working fine btw.

 

Any help/suggestions much appreciated.
