Just learning via a manual lol. Doing lots of research on all things Zed, since april.

omg... mechanics and boyfriends / hubby's were made for a reason...

I'd do any normal car... but fookin heck, i'd hate to blow up the zed - so dont trust myself

I am very good with mechanics. In the past I have stripped a few motorbike engines and done a total rebuild. Up until 4 years back I always did my own repairs. BUT! I just cant be bothered anymore. I hope with my job change that will change. More time at home in the new year.

NOPE i stay clear myself, i know the basics but tbh dont trust myself being as accident prone as i am

pretty reasonable i'd say. Done a few things on the zed, most involved being the cambelt change, piece of piss, done 2 now.

I'd have a go if I could just find a left handed screwdriver

I'll lend you one Duffman, all mine seem to be left hand for some reason :D

No seriously its what I do, so I reckon I'm good at it

Thanks bud! Did you put some left handed bits in there as well? I only have right handed ones. Just a large and a small of flat and posi will do for now - until I get more confident on the bigger jobs :)

Thanks again bud, will I need to sign for the parcel or will it fit through the letterbox?

Ah crap - I forgot to include the LH bits :headvswal Try your RH bits, but I can't guarantee they'll fit. Alternatively, you might be able to get hold of a LH/RH adapter from these guys :D

Will give it a go - I may be able to reshape my RH bits with my left handed bench grinder :)

That site    I really have got tears rolling down my face!

i thought mine was way above average, having rebuilt engines for my lotus sunbeam, rs2000, rover 220 turbo and range rover v8, that was before i met the zed!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I was a reasonably competent home mechanic after owning a couple of bikes and (easy to work on vauxhalls) then I looked under the bonnet of a zed

my proper trade is motor mechanic served apprenticeship on diesels although still learnt petrol engines, then built dragsters and worked on yanks, then realised was never gonna earn a fortune getting coverd in greese and shit, bit the zed is a different kettle of fish and learning about them the hard way but helps having a mechanical background :)
