just measured the car with following setup:
greddy td05-16g and external wastegates
pentroof manifolds
555cc inj.
lightened flywheel, stock crank pulley
maf removed, double free intake( = pressure-temp conversion)
haltech standalone
stock cams
stock heads
jun piston kit and conrods
hks evc boost controller
400 miles on engine.
pump gas.
at 1.5 bar ( 22 psi): 570 din-hp at crank and 67Nm torque= 49 pound-foot
engine temperatures and inlet charge temp perfectly stable at this boost.
(the engine will certainly accept additional small increases in boost)
had hoped on about 650 crank hp, so some deception...
after braking in, will probably up the boost some more to achieve 600+.
The questions:
-will breaking in of forged engine release some hp?
-will judicious choice of cams help me out on power output without to much loss in lower revs?
- a small puzzle also:
boost controller off: 28psi ( too much , charge heats to 60°C)
boost controller on only a max of 22psi is achieved.
how is this possible as hks claims up to 35psi boost level??
thank for the advice.
