Common problem with increased boost- araldite or liquid metal ;)

Eeek! I thought it was bad enough when your steering wheel started coming loose on the motorway in Belgium! I think you ought to go round the car and tighten everything up again. ;)

Where the front PVC tube enters the intake rocker cover... The pipe blows out and jams against the throttle linkage....

I wonder if someone fancies fabbing up a 'cap' to go over the whole lot and make sure the damn thing don't move. Failing that a tie-wrap round the whole lot should give added security...

Excellent - you know what I mean? Kind of rectangular box that goes over the top? Might look quite cool in stainless too!

I put a thread up about it last year. very common and very dangerous.

yep. I knew what the problem was, but you just dont know its going to come unstuck. shal be seriously stuck in from tomoro.

 you are a very lucky bloke that there were no other cars about. Don't bare thinking about.

I had this on track at Bruntingthorpe as I was coming into a corner and was on the brakes and blipped the throttle to get some drift and it stuck open!!!!

Ivan

I normally wrap some twisty wire around the rocker and over the tube that way it cant blow out under boost ;)

but for something more aesthetically pleasing as andy or gaz has said a cover going over in bling would look cool

The roundabout is just down teh road, litteraly from the entrance to my club. There are 2 rubber tyre marks going under the bridge and around the corner of the roundabout, as I was standing on teh brakes with both feet untill i got to the gear stick the cars front wheels where leaving rubber all the way down the road. there is at least a 40-50 tyre mark.

Thank christ nothing was comming.

Been looking at it today and I really do think it would be that extra bit of bling - but for a change, bling which actually serves a purpose too!!!

Really glad no one was hurt and nothing got damaged - maybe (with a bit of development work) this episode will help prevent anyone getting hurt in the future ;)

Read this thread yesterday, and then today just changed my pcv hoses and this came loose!

Glad id just read and know its dangerous, its tie-wrapped for now, getting some jbweld on it next weekend. Definitely interested in some sort of metal cover.

Yep, I've just sh1t myself.

Must go and check the car later and make sure this doesn't happen to me...

so Smithy!

can you get some of these knocked up? like your small fuse box covers.

something like this would do: (excuse crude drawing)

Both of mine have a wire wrapped around them to keep them from coming out. Whoever had the car befor me must have known about the problem.
