can someone please tell me what the switch at the front of the [auto] gearstick [little black switch red top] is for, it doesn;t seem to do anything?

wonderful - it's so that you can put the auto gear stick in whatever position you want whilst the engine is switched off. from memory you push it down then you can move the gear stick.

 

Although I prefer the alien answer...

It's the switch that unlocks the gearlever when you don't have the ignition on.

...only came on to find out what brake fluid to use - changing the calipers tomorrow...

mind you, I should stop drinking - it says allen, not alien - whoops!

LOL its for moving the gearstick without having the ignition turned on. Press brake, pull red know, move gearstick to where you want.... Fuck me I'm glad I've got a manual - shame it has no engine though :rofl:
