I know but no matter how much you mod something it's never going to be exactly the same, it's a beautiful design, i think the zcentre one is too just i don't know there's something slightly different with the twinz one that stands out

I think with the zed centre bumper its the vents they are to wide. The TwinZ bumper is a little more subtle and the extended side vents on the TwinZ bumper give it a bit of style against the flatness front of the Z centre bumper, thats what i think anyway

I moded my bumper in half a day. If I had somewhere to work I could knock that bumper off in 2 days, 2 days to get it really flat for making the mold then I could have the glass done via a local coach body firm using the mold.

How many of you would buy one if I make it & how much are you prepared to pay?

I must have serious numbers and proper orders to make it worth my while.

The coach firm will charge me £90 per pannel = one bumper, but that is a proper spay gelcoat ultra fine fiberglass that will not have air bubbles to pop in a spay oven. with the work involve and the fetching and carrying I'd want £250 per bumper.

I'm not going into business this is a one off uless it there's a future in it.

Well how about we either make a small donation to the twinz (according to their copyright doc that legrath has) for copying their design or we make it slightly different

we could make it a bit different i guess by adding built in side lights and indicators, like markzx has done on his bumper. How would we stand on that?

Right if I'm to make one the final design has to be decided before I go to molds. I would say to make the first one from which I take my molds from would take a 2 to 3 weekends. However it may take a week or two to make space in my garage first, but its a job I've got to do anyway.

Then once the molds are made the coach firms I've already spoken to (as I was going to and still might make a full wide arch kit) said that they would make the pannels, ie each mold between their main work of building coach pannels. If we drop lucky it could be straight away or could be 3 or 4 weeks it just depends. So I realisticaly say 3 months, but if all goes well could be sooner.

I'll go ahead and make one maybe 2 (1 same as the twins and one with indicators like mine) and post em up and see what people think. if its OK then I'll ask Mac 1 if I could run a GB for everyone.

P.S. Would people be looking at the stroseck style healamp pannel??? If so it could be bought from Luke or I could make one. I'll have to think on that one, because if its going to be Lukes then the bumper will have to be made with that pannel if you know what I mean. So that I get a accurate fit.

Excellent stuff Mark, we need to make it slightly different as to not upset the twinz though (or luke at zcentre for that matter).

If you need some photoshops of a design i'll be more than happy to help out.

Thanks,

Nick

You have to do the Photo shop stuff as I'm useless at it.

Partly because I don't have photo shop and partly because I'm a perfectionist and would keep at it till it was bang on. That take too much time for us technophobs

  • 1 month later...
